One of his most renowned and unique photos was without doubt, the “Porsche Jump” aka “On taking a Short Cut”, which gained him international fame.

This vintage ice axe was manufactured by the Gebr. Willisch (Willisch brothers) in Täsch/Zermatt, Valais, Switzerland for the Albert Lutz Sportartikelfabrik AG in Teufen Appenzell, Switzerland. The ice axe is clean/polished & in very good condition. Besides a few knicks, the shaft is free of cracks or splinters. Willisch is a name that all the great mountaineers would regognize very well and had some very famous customers including Mallory, Irvine and Chris Bonnington. Three generations of men from the family Willisch have been handcrafting ice axes since 1900.
