Rare Vintage Swiss Staub's "TÖDI" Skis & Bamboo Poles
These very rare antique skis were made by "H. STAUB & CIE" sporting goods manufacturers in Zurich for the famous sports equipment store "Berger - Stalder" in Bern. They are in excellent condition and probably only used a few times. The bamboo poles show more signs of use but are complete with the leather hand straps and basket webbings intact. They measure 114 cm in length with Ø16 cm single rattan basket rings. The skis were most likely manufactured for the Swiss military Alpine Troops (Swiss military cross and serial number on bindings) and the surplus sold to Berger-Stalder.
The Tödi, is a mountain massif and with the mountain peak Piz Russein the highest mountain in the Glarus Alps and the highest summit in the canton of Glarus
