These 1920's antique "Ridge Top" German skis are unrestored but are overall in very good condition for their age with a beautiful patina. The leather binding straps are original and complete. Included are a fine pair of bamboo ski poles with leather grips/hand straps & double rattan basket rings. The base of the "Nipple" tips are marked with*MARKE" (Brand) "ARTHUR MÜLLER" and originate from Sayda, Saxony. The town of Sayda can look back on over 100 years of cross-country skiing tradition. In 1893, Norwegian students came to Sayda and had their skis repaired by cartwright Arthur Müller. Inspired by this, Arthur Müller began producing skis. Until 1992, many types of skis, especially cross-country skis, were produced in the Sayda ski factory. Müller skis were sold worldwide, also under the name “Germina”. There is one minor flaw (type of dent) on one of the skis which in our opinion, only adds more authenticity to these beautifully hand-crafted antique skis. Also, included are two sets of wooden clamps & a wood block which were used in the day for preserving the skis camber while in storage. The clamps could also now be used to mount the skis on a wall.
