SOLD - Rare AUTHIER "Vampire" Skis (Unrestored)
These Authier "Vampire" skis are very rare indeed. They are equipped with Attenhofer Alpina "Flex" bindings and both skis and bindings are in amazing shape. The edges are also made by Attenhofer ("Alpina" model). They were bought at Affentranger Sport shop in Lucerne in the early 1950's. The edges show very minor signs of rust and the bases are equipped with "rail ties" for climbing skins.
Swiss ski-team officials selected the Vampire for the 1950 World Championships in Aspen. With these skis Georges Schneider won slalom gold, silver in Banff and later gold again at the Harriman Cup in Sun Valley. Madeleine Berthod won a gold medal on the Vampire in downhill and combined at the 1956 Winter Games in Cortina d'Ampezzo.
