Rare Vintage Attenhofer Ice Axe

Rare Vintage Attenhofer Ice Axe

This antique ice axe was manufactured by (or for) Adolf Attenhofer who opened up in Zurich a sport article factory in 1924. He was better known for his skis and the "ALPINA" ski bindings which were the least expensive and thus the most common bindings on the market during the 1920's. The ice axe has been cleaned/polished & is in excellent condition with a beautiful patina. On one side of the axe "E. Lenz" is engraved on the wood. Adolf Attenhofer won the Swiss Ski Championships in 1917 while working developing skis at Ettinger Skis. This a very rare collectible Ice Axe for the antique collector or for displaying in your home or ski lodge.
