Here you have it all in one! A beautiful mountaineering Swiss display consisting of a vintage rucksack with ice axe, rope, crampons & glacier goggles - all from the 1940's/50's with a lot of history! The rucksack originates from "Sport Körner" in the town of Altdorf in the Canton of Uri (Altdorf is also where the legendary Wilhelm Tell shot the apple off his son’s head!). It is in great shape with no tears & all the leather straps intact. The 1940's ice axe is also in excellent clean condition with no rust or cracks & only a few very minor dents & measures 80 cm in length & the head is 30 cm. It is a fine quality ice axe made in Switzerland, the head being stamped with “Gebr. Andenmatten, Schweiz, Saas Almegel” which is a mountain village in the Sasstal...
near Saas-Fee on one side and “MARKE MISCHABEL” with an outline of a mountain range on the other. The Mischabel is a mountain range in the Alps of the Valais.
The 10 point vintage hand forged 1940's crampons are with all straps complete and in very good condition. They measure 29 cm in length with no signs of rust & the spikes are extremely sharp. The glacier goggles are authentic Swiss military Alpine troops issue and come with its own storage tin. The 20 meter hemp rope is also original and in very good condition with both ends whipped.
