Vintage Swiss Mountaineering Rucksack & Climbing Gear
Here’s another Antique Ski Shop creation. A beautiful Swiss mountaineering display consisting of a vintage rucksack with ice axe, rope, crampons & glacier goggles - all from the 1930's/50's with a lot of history. The 1950’s rucksack shows signs of usage but in great condition with no tears & all the leather straps intact. The 1940's ice axe is also in excellent clean condition with no rust or cracks & measures 84 cm in length & the head is 30 cm. It is a fine quality ice axe made in Switzerland, the head being stamped with “P. SCHILD SOHN - KANDERSTEG” which is a high-altitude resort village in the Bernese Oberland region.

The 10 point vintage hand forged 1930's crampons are with all original straps and in very excellent shape. They originate from “Sporthaus UTO in Zurich” (1928 – 1955) & are marked size “42” - measure 28 cm in length and 13 cm at the widest point, with no signs of rust. The glacier goggles are authentic Swiss military Alpine troops issue and come with its own storage tin. The 10 meter rope is in very good condition with both ends whipped. This antique Swiss mountaineering combination will make a wonderful item for wall decor in you home, lodge or chalet as well as an interesting conversation piece!
