NOS - Antique "ESS" Standard Ski Bindings
These are a pair of New Old Stock bindings made by the "Allgaüer Skibeschläge Fabrik" (Josef Ess) in Sonthofen, Germany. These vintage ESS "Standard" (Jugend 152) bindings are complete and come with the original box. Ess started manufacturing bindings in the 1950's and later created the ESS V.A.R. bindings which were way ahead of their time.

The V.A.R. binding was designed to slide fore and aft (up to 6.0 cm) to change the way the ski reacts. The binding was also designed to have minimum effect on ski flex. Ess later sold the company to Atomic Skis in 1988.
