Original Vintage Ski Posters & Prints
Antique Ski Shop offers some very rare and authentic Swiss ski and Alpine posters available on the market today. Throughout their history, posters have been a significant means of mass communication and Switzerland was the most prolific country for ski tourism posters in the 20th century. Attractive as the images are, ski posters were never meant to become collectible art. They were produced as marketing material designed to lure holidaymakers to the destinations they depicted. They were not intended to last, and the vast majority were torn down, pasted over, or just thrown away when the season changed as it was time to tout the summer resorts. Posters that have survived and are in good to excellent condition are scarce. Original ski posters have become increasingly sought after, not only because they look great decorating your home or chalet but many continue to escalate in value. Experts have estimated that in the last ten years, values have increased by several hundred percent. For example, many posters that were sold for CHF 4,000 – CHF 6,000 in the late 1990’s are now selling for CHF 12,000 or more. Not a bad investment indeed! Above all, all our original vintage posters are classified in the A – B+ range and are guaranteed for satisfaction and authenticity. A Certificate of Authenticity will accompany each purchase. High quality prints are also available which are also satisfaction guaranteed or your money back! (If you are looking for a specific poster/resort, please use our search box feature above)
