Vintage Swiss/Italian Mountaineering Rucksack & Climbing Gear
Here’s another Antique Ski Shop creation. A beautiful Swiss/Austrian mountaineering display consisting of a vintage rucksack with ice axe, rope, crampons & glacier goggles - all from the 1940's/50's with a lot of history. The 1950’s rucksack shows signs of usage but in great condition with no tears & all the leather straps intact. It features side access zipper & an extension zipper at the top which can add 15 cm for extra storage space. The 1950's "Stubai" ice axe from Austria with its original hand strap is also in excellent clean condition with no rust or cracks & measures 70 cm in length & the head is 27 cm with the letters "MG" marked on the shaft...
It is a fine quality ice axe made in South Tyrol, Austria, the head being stamped with “STUBAI" & "MADE IN AUSTRIA on one side & on the other "EISELIN SPORT + LUZERN, ZURICH, BASEL".
The 8-point vintage hand forged 1940's crampons are with all the original straps and in excellent shape. They are engraved with "MARKE Tödi" & "A5 BREIT + 9L" , measure 25 cm in length and 13 cm at the widest point, with no signs of rust. The glacier goggles are authentic Swiss military Alpine troops issue and come with its own storage tin. The 10 meter rope is in very good condition with both ends whipped.
