A beautiful Swiss - Austrian mountaineering display consisting of a vintage rucksack with ice axe, climbing rope, crampons, pitons, field flask & glacier goggles - all from the 1940's/50's with a lot of history as it all made it up (& down!) the Matterhorn in the late 50's. The rucksack is from the 1950's and shows signs of usage with tears along the back support struts but not seen from the front. The leather draw string and all other leather straps are intact. It also features an extension zipper at the top which can add 15 cm for extra storage space. The 1940's "Albert Lutz AG" Stubai ice axe with its original canvas hand strap shows signs of normal wear but in excellent clean condition with no rust or cracks & measures 89 cm in length & the head is 29 cm....

The "Ralling" 12 point crampons are size 45 (L 35cm X W 13 cm) have been cleaned, free of rust and still have their original straps. They were made in the town of Fulpmes, Austria which is well known as the center of iron production in the area. The 5 vintage climbing pitons have also been cleaned and were made by Albert Lutz AG (CH), Cassin (I) & Stubai (A).

The glacier goggles are authentic 1940's  Swiss military Alpine troops issue and come with its own storage tin.  The field flask is also Swiss military issue with the marking of "MZ 1942". The rope is approx. 12 meter in length &  in good condition . This antique Swiss mountaineering combination will make a wonderful item for wall decor in you home, lodge or chalet as well as an interesting conversation piece!
